Introduction
A spinal cord injury could happen to any one of us - we are all vulnerable to unexpected events like a serious fall, road traffic accident or a sports injury and the effects of spinal cord damage can be devastating.
Spinal Research is dedicated to finding ways to repair damaged spinal cords and restore feeling and movement to people paralysed by a spinal cord injury.
The groundbreaking research that the charity is funding is making great progress in the field of spinal cord repair and the first clinical safety trials of treatments are planned for 2007. Our ultimate aim is to end the terrible threat of permanent paralysis caused by spinal cord injury and by taking part in a challenge event for Spinal Research you will be helping us to turn hope into a reality for paralysed people everywhere.
